Hello, folks. I'm posting a personal challenge, you might enjoy. I am doing 60 portraits in 60 days with the goal being a one hour painting time.
Rules:
- 8"x10", oil on canvas.
- Canvas is primed by me before hand.
- I can paint for up to 2 hours and have to stop, and call it done, done or not.
- Portraits are free, volunteers can use the image however they like.
- If the volunteer wants the original it is $20 for materials and shipping within the U.S.
- Volunteers must give me an email release for usage, so I can post the results and for advertising purposes.
- Image must be high definition.
- One person on one canvas, one painting per person.
- I select the portraits I will paint.
- If at the end of 60 portraits, and I have not achieved my speed, and think it is still a possibility, I may extend the free portrait offer.
I am doing this challenge to refine my approach, and to increase my ability to demo painting a portrait in an hour for my workshops and lectures. I have done 3 so far and my heart races and I am nervous while racing during painting them. When that calms down, I'll know the challenge is working even if I don't go faster.
